Sentimental Value
"I want a home. I want a home."
I dont even know how to talk about this movie, i could tell you about the characters and how the writing feels so real its uncanny, i could tell you about how the acting is some of the most raw and personal ive seen in years and about how i loved the various stylistic choices that made it resemble classic cinema, but at that point id just be repeating the various reviews that many people that simply know more about this than me have made.
I guess what i can tell you about is how i dont remember the last time i saw myself and my life in a story as much as with this movie, i saw my dad who at so many points in my life felt i could never have a real conversation with and the rest of my family that made dealing with the grief of it so much easier.
I connected with it so much that by the time Cannock Chase started playing in the last scene i was bawling my eyes out. I know its unlikely but i truly hope it wins best picture because believe it deserves it so damn much. Truly a masterpiece in my eyes
