Dune: Part Two
Power over spice is power over allHell fucking yeah! This completely lives up to what I was expecting and still completely fucking blew me away. It's my first time going to the cinema, and holy fucking shit, what an amazing time. Zendaya stopped being jumpscares in this one and is an actual character. I felt so fucking bad for her in the end, 'cause holy fucking shit, minor spoilers, but I fucking despise Paul. I thought he was just going to be a cliche hero, but this movie really took a fucking turn when the war started. In the beginning, I was kinda disappointed because people were talking so well about this movie that I thought it was overhyped and would be a 4-star movie at most. But holy fucking shit, that took such a turn. The best movie I have seen that came out this year so far, which isn't saying much, but still, I was so shocked by the turn this movie took. That fucking plot twist was so shocking, shit.
There is so much to talk about this, I don't even know where to start. Those amazing special effects were fucking amazing. I knew it was going to be amazing to watch in the cinema, and I was fucking right. The sound design and the AAAAAAA EEEEE DOMIKAAAAAA still kept its quality, and there were so many cool imagery. Holy shit, that scene of all the worms killing those guys and Paul riding one, and so many others. There are a lot of explosions in this, and all so well done. This movie, unlike the other one, went straight into action. The first one felt like more of a slow-burn introduction, but this one is a fucking adventure right from the beginning. There are so many cool action scenes in this, and they did kinda sacrifice cinematography and visuals for action in this. You can feel the lack it has compared to the first one, but what it doesn't have on visuals, it has on action.
The story was once again so cool. I'm so hyped to watch part 3, even though when it ended, I was just like, "Oh, that's it?" And then I realized this almost 3-hour movie felt quicker than a lot of 90-minute ones because it was just so fun and entertaining every second. The acting was good from everyone, and holy shit, this movie and the Atreides family really took an unexpected turn. I was not expecting them to end this way. And Austin Butler was also amazing at playing the sociopath. His character is a shoutout to him. But he actually did not sound as much like Elvis as I thought he would. But you can take the man out of Elvis, not the Elvis out of the man. The story is so well-written. The director did such an amazing job once again, and the author too. The story is so compelling and intriguing. I had my eyes glued to the screen the whole time.
The story was so epic and the visuals, although less than the 1st one, were still so amazing to watch on the big screen. Such cool shots! The director (I keep forgetting his name) is amazing, and the cinematographer for this was perfect. Anya Taylor-Joy was even less in this than Zendaya was in the 1st one, but still, the dream sequences were beautiful. I love the desert scenes; the scenery and places where this was filmed were perfect. The character design, too; the outfits were on point. I love that practically black and white scene. The introduction of Elvis Presley in this was so cool. He's such a cool character, annoying as heck too. But so was Paul, 'cause holy moly, he became such a jerk. Jesus, I was so mad at him. Florence Pugh is hot, but come on, dude, poor Chani. I felt so bad for her.
Overall, I had such a fucking great time with this. It was so, but so, fucking cool to watch, especially in the cinema. Every actor was so fucking good, such fucking cool visuals, imagery, and shots. So much more action and fucking explosions. The story was so entertaining; the turn they did shocked me so much. That plot twist really caught me so fucking off guard; I was not expecting that.
