Blade Runner
Final Cut
Before I watched only the original version (I'm not sure as I watched it many years ago on a DVD from my English teacher) and the experience then was much different. Watching it now, without Harrison Ford's as a narrator and with an open ending, gave me a new, fresh look on the movie.
Blade Runner is a true masterpiece which only a visionary could made. It's a kind of a movie which you watch and think:
- How did they made it in 1982?
- Who had so many so bizarre ideas?
- Why the future world feels so apart but at the same so close to what we have now?
The plot of this movie is very, very simple and it's only a background to the real message it's sending and I find it extremely fascinating. We watch a character explore new ideas, look for answers to his mystery and at the same time, we as a viewer can ask ourselves more than just what we see.
The ending also is magnificent, the whole sequence at the end and final scenes are one of the best in cinema history.
I'm about to rewatch the sequel soon as well and I hope it will surprise me as much as this one.
