Hamnet
Watching this after Sentimental Value makes you really appreciate that art like this exists. Both of this movies showcase that art is the purest form of showcasing how you feel and making others feel it too.
Hamnet is a movie that really delivers on all emotional tones. It makes you feel warm, it makes you feel calm, cold and especially - sad. Everyone gets emotions completely different but we all have them and that's how I understand this movie.
Special applause to one and only Polish Łukasz Żal who together with Max Ritcher truly made this movie powerful. Without this cinematography and music it wouldn't be as powerful as it is. It's a shame that Łukasz didn't get nominated for an Oscar after it.
Only problem I've got with it is chemistry between Mescal and Buckley, but maybe it was intended to be this way? I just didn't feel the connection between them and I mean it not only in positive, lovely way. They feel more integrated when being separated than actually next to each other. Both were amazing in this movie, don't get me wrong...
Also Jacobi Jupe... There's no way to be that good at this age. Phenomenal role.
