Give Jessie Buckley her Oscar immediately. The amount of depth she was able to capture in 2 hours felt like 10. An absolutely brilliant performance. Just sobbed the entire time. Like violently sobbed. This pulled something out of me I needed to get out. Also, Paul over Leo any day of the week for best actor nom. I know most people want to put him in supporting, but I feel like this could absolutely warrant best actor.  Nina Gold did wonders here. It took a lot for Jacobi Jupe to pull off what he did and trusting the brother casting was brilliant.  Chloe Zhao is a force to be reckoned with. Biting and harrowing yet still filled with yearning and nurture. Just absolutely fell in love with every little bit of this.

Whoever said this was “*Juno* for the horror set” on the DVD cover can rot in hell. 1/3 torture porn, 1/3 slapstick, and 1/3 Tommy Wiseau. There is nothing to prepare you for the dialogue in this film.  This concept had potential, but it got bogged down in flip-flopping between sexploitation, splatter film, and spoof.
