Hereditary
A brilliantly-crafted blend of horror and familial trauma. Stripped of its spiritual dispositions, this movie presents a masterclass in the consequences that entail poor trauma management.
In addition, its creative horror delivery constitutes a major advantage point--one that distinctly sets it apart amidst an oversaturated genre.
Suplementary bonus points further contribute to that end, such as exceptional cinematography, immaculate acting, and remarkable narrative economy. The last point is of considerable importance and one of the finest qualities I seek in a movie; It pertains to relevance embedded within every scene, with hardly any of them being squandered or merely serving the role of dull narrative boilerplate.
Overall, the only two faults worth considering are
(1) a pace that could've slightly but noticeably benefited from a bit of haste, and (2) a more sensible ending.
