Amélie
This is just one of those movies that hits the spot for me, as I’ve mentioned a lot my brother really sparked my love of movies, horror movies to be particular, but when I would stay at his house he had a poster of Amélie in his room, in particular the one I’ve selected for this review, it took me until I was 14 or 15 to finally watch it but I think it come to me at the right time,
Underneath all it's dreamy and whimsical nature this is a movie about life in general, the different stages and journeys we go on, while Amélie is our central character and we manly follow her journey of trying to find love we also look at stories of overcoming grief, reconciliation, wasted life and most importantly just learning to love it, Amélie’s story can hit home particularly because we often are afraid to take a leap of faith and sometimes things can pass us by but every story in here we can relate to in one way or another,
It looks beautiful and is one of the best feel good movies I’ve ever seen, I just feel hope when I watch this, that despite the shitty nature of some people there’s good out there, and despite the awful things life can do to kick us down, there’s positivity and light just around the corner, and this movie we wonderfully see both sides of the coin, some people might argue it’s fairy tale depiction of love is over the top but I’d argue that’s because that’s what love is supposed to feel like
