Arrival

Arrival isn’t a perfect adaptation. It departs from the source material in a few noticeable ways, but none are so offensive that they’re detrimental to the overall viewing experience. In fact, I think some of the changes Villeneuve made are actually pretty cool. Overall, Arrival is a worthy adaptation of what is in my opinion one of the greatest science fiction stories ever put to paper. Ted Chiang is brilliant. Denis Villeneuve is brilliant. This is the gold standard for sci-fi.
