Hugo
I love movies. I love movies about movies. And Hugo captures every way of these loves I could've wished for. This movie is the reason I was already a nerd about early cinema before I took my first class on it. It's the reason why I did late-night-research on George Méliès as soon as I had my first own Laptop, right before I started studying (I still have my notes saved and will never delete them).
Today I watched it with my mum which made it even more perfect because, while Hugo helped to grow that love for early cinema, my mum was the one who got me into movies in the first place. Watching movies with her on Sundays or when my dad and brother were watching football was something we did on such a regular basis when I was younger that I am forever greatful for all the new and especially the old movies she introduced me to.
So combining these two elements that helped to grow my obsession before my university-film classes made it even stronger just felt adequate and right.
