Incendies
Dennis Villeneuve keeps amazing me. I knew there was a plot twist and I had seen the scene without context, but it still caught me off guard and left me shocked.
The whole movie builds up in this mistery, we get to know Narwal at the same pace as her sons, and share their feelings alongside their discoveries. Each thing we learn leaves a huge impact, another piece in this disturbing puzzle that I don't think anyone who watched the movie will forget.
Besides the main story, we take a look at the horrors of war, bleak sequences that portray the suffering of a country and the consequences on the generation that fled from it. It added a lot to Narwal's character, and contextualized her actions as a mother.
This movie will haunt me for a while and consolidates Villeneuve as one of my favorite directors.
