holy fuck -- what an incredible movie. It's hard to hate vincent gallo in this, as much of an asshole as he is in the movie. Billy is an extremely damaged person, a life taken away by a singular mistake. Neglect and abuse from his parents have conditioned him to be abrasive in order to push people away -- he can't handle feeling worth. Christina Ricci is also remarkable as Layla, there's this sense of crushing loneliness to her I couldn't shake. Final sequence is great, maybe cliched but great (Happy Ending). the scene where he game ends scott woods and himself had me feeling shocked.
Vincent Gallo is a W self insert alongside David Lynch.
It’s hard to not sympathise with Billy, he’s already whittled to the bone (emotionally) — and he begins to develop himself.
the camerawork is incredible, the entire movie feels so tight and well shot. Not a bad moment in the entire film.
hold me like christina ricci does, but im not vincent gallo
