Bugonia
The political commentary that actually uses both sides for wealth disparity is pretty amazing. While the score, jesse plemmons and emma stone are brilliant, the decision made by the aliens at the end to exterminate humans due to their nature connects to how humans play god in the existence of many species on earth. It is amazingly paced and the only really predictable part is emma stone being an alien which we are given subtle hints about like how she survives 400 plus volts or how her injuries like being choked out having her knee smashed in have little effect on her. Besides that it was super unpredictable and tense and i loved the metaphor of the bee colony, not only does it encapsulate how teddy views the social order of society, but also has a profound discourse about it with the ceo’s view of obedient and orderly workers versus teddys view of an easily manipulated population. Bugonia is also highly stylized and the way it plays out is as much engaging as it is cinematic.
