Wow this felt like a proper throwback to epics of the past like Lawrence of Arabia and the good the bad and the ugly due to how big this movie felt and it’s many great sequences One thing that really stood out to me which I was suprised at was the horror elements. I liked the body horror elements of when the men were turned into pigs and the cyclops looked fantastic. Saw an interview recently where Nolan said he would be interested in doing a horror movie, and these aspects of the film make me really want that movie to happen 🙏 Nolan is on a crazy run right now with what I think is two back to back masterpieces. Long may it continue. Also was such a privilege to see this in 70mm 🙏

Definitely Nolan’s worst and it makes sense given he didn’t write it. I just think for a Nolan film this is very basic and didnt grip me as much as his other films do. I remember liking Robin Williams performance when I first watched this but he doesn’t really get that many scenes even though he is entertaining here Pacino on the other hand I think this is one of his weaker performances. Phoning it in would be a bit harsh but I don’t think it’s his greatest work and he is my favourite actor oat. Lastly I just think the story is weak and predictable however I did like the ending where Pacinos character urges Hillary swank to not go down the corrupt route like he did due to years of seeing depravity

Im glad I forgot the plot twist. The use of a non linear narrative here works so well and I like how well put together the story is

Surprisingly good
