Spider-Man 3

This is one of my favorite movies and I love it Oh the plot is a mess? Fuck yeah it is, I get to watch like 5 different movies in one go, it's never boring Peter and MJ's relationship is a mess? Relationships aren't perfect and sometimes timing is off and this shows the struggle but also the power of true love. Peter wasn't a great bf I mean he thought everything was fine while MJ looked more depressed than I do 24/7, but at the same time she also didn't tell him what was going on. I love how this depicts the transformation of peter's villain/hero role: in the first two movies spider-man is still regarded by some as a menace, while peter is a lawful good citizen and something of a hero himself. In spider-man 3 the tables have turned, as spider-man gets a whole parade and a key to the city, while peter is neglecting MJ and essentially being a villain in the relationship. Peter can also be seen as a villain to Harry, who after the accident doesn't remember anything and peter keeps him in the dark. Their relationship is also messy, but they still love each other even after a few misunderstandings about who's dating MJ and who killed norman. As for the villain, I think sandman might be my personal favorite, because he isn't just turned insane nor does he want big things in the world. He literally just needed some money to help his sick daughter????? Like yes I have daddy issues but that is the sweetest fucking thing and he did nothing wrong. He didn't even voluntarily inject himself with potions or technology, he became sandman by accident! I also love the casting choice, thomas haden church was the perfect pick and I mean... talk about a dilf As for gwen and eddie, I absolutely love bryce dallas howard and she looks absolutely gorgeous!! I also looove topher grace and I think he makes a good eddie in the sense of peter's photographic rival who's also just some goofy guy with frosted tips trying to get some. Does he make a good venom? No, tom hardy does. But topher is exactly the unserious camp choice this trilogy is built on. And I mean he did the ballsiest thing in this entire trilogy: he asked god to kill peter parker. That is some next level villain shit! Also you can't watch this without mentioning the whole emo peter part because that is genuinely hilarious but I'm gonna stop because I could write a whole 'nother review just for that. And remember: It's a free country. It's not rent free country!
