Evil Dead
Okay I actually rly loved it this time around. Maybe a little too much it but this does not deserve only 3 and a half. My only true gripe is the first 10 minutes without exaggeration. Those first couple of minutes I still don’t like. The dialogue is weird and not in a fun way. It establishes some characteristics fine enough, but I don’t feel it justifies it. Also I’m not crazy about the thing where a character sees some evil crap and it’ll be like “ DOnT REaD EvIl PeoPle WiLl eAT Ur FaCe If U Read It OUt LoUd” and then they read it out loud like bruh. That’s why I liked the recording in the original trilogy, but those are my only complaints. Past that holy hell this is an amazing movie. While I know it’s not technically a “remake” it adds some rly cool lore additions that the originals didn’t have. I love how now there’s a reason to bury the deadites, and that there’s actual stages to being infected by the book. All of the gore is insane, like I was cringing at certain moments it’s that good. The dog being named Grandpa is adorable. Jane Levy is in my hall of fame now bc she does it all in this. She’s creepy as hell while also being one of the best final girls in anything, which to be fair my other favorite final girl is Beth from Evil Dead Rise so maybe I just have a thing for people covered in blood holding chainsaws but who cares this is awesome. I rly think the first time I watched it I was just put off by those first 10 minutes, but again after that it’s just an awesome thrill ride. I’m honestly surprised I love it as much as I do now. Can’t wait to be annoying about another Evil Dead thing for the rest of my life.
Also eat ur heart out Thanos this movie has the best end credit scene in anything.
