Bo Burnham: Inside
Watched it 3 times by now, loved it the first time around, loved it the second time, loved it now.
This definetly is the best, most creative and sincere display of depression and anxiety and panic and loneliness I've seen.
This movie just takes you on such a journey and you might not realize it at first but when the end song "goodbye" starts playing and you see parallel videos of beginning-of-lockdown-Bo and "present" bo, it just feels as if you really were there the whole year, at his side, during his struggles.
The music is obviously great, the sound and camera work is so fkn good and the way he does these things with such limited resources by himself is just mind-blowing.
The scene transitions are jarring in its complete incoherence and the synergy of just funny sketches, asking deep questions/dealing with serious topics and also a whole making of/day-to-day-display of struggle and frustration is just working perfectly.
I just feel with him so much, having lived through that isolation too and having had struggles and depression. It's raw emotion
