Teeth

Teeth is one of those movies that a lot of men seem to completely misunderstand while so many women instantly get what it's doing. Yes, it was directed by a man (and i honestly can't help but wonder how much more interesting it could've been in the hands of a woman). A coming-of-age story about a religiously repressed girl who discovers she literally has teeth in her vagina-and that they repeatedly protect her from sexual assault-shouldn't work as well as it does, yet somehow its hilarious, disturbing, empowering, and weirdly heartfelt all at once. Watching this as a SA surviver made it resonate even more. seeing a story where a young woman isn't left powerless, but instead fights back against those who try to violate her, was suprisingly carthartic. It's obviously fantasy, but there's something incredible satisying about that reversal of power. #killerpussy
