I’ve just come out of the cinema; my cheeks are drenched and my eyes are scarlet red. I believe this film has some of the most heartfelt performances of all time, and I’m not being the least bit exaggerating. Jessie Buckley: if you don’t get that award, I shall burn down the Academy in your name. I also feel like maybe, just maybe, Paul Mescal was snubbed of a Best Actor nomination. I also feel like Jacobi Jupe could’ve easily received a Best Supporting Actor nomination, but the Academy is now afraid to nominate children for some reason. May I add that the score played a big part in my crying? This film was everything and more—just an exceptionally beautiful symbol of love and the roots within it.
