Berserk

I haven’t yet read the Manga, but it seems that the Show is pretty much a really long Flashback that explains the World and introduces the characters. Even if some of the Animation can be very stiff, it really shines in the Dialogue, Story and beautiful Soundtrack. The Show started off good and kept upping itself, not just in Story but definitely in tone and imagery. While the first 20’ish Episodes were kind of normal (Even if a pretty dark at places) Fantasy Epic, the last 5 Episodes then went on full Horror-Mode with some surprisingly very brutal, gory and dark Moments. I LOVED those last 5 Episodes... and then it just ended really abruptly. It didn’t even end with seeing what Guts is about to do in that absolutely devastating and Crucial Moment. It felt like they would’ve ended the Backstory/Season by Episode 27 and then went on to the Mainstory by the next Season, but the whole Show only has 25 Episodes! It’s not like a Cliffhanger at all, they just ended it in the middle of a Scene and called it a day... But hell, i just watched the Show to see if i even would like to Pick up the Manga and now i am absolutely going to. It’s really terrible for everyone that just wanted to watch a kind of contained Show, but it’s a great gateway if you want to see if you like Berserk before actually starting the Manga. If you think about it, it’s kind of the perfect Ad to lure People into reading the Manga that usually don’t read Manga. You get them hooked into the Story, World & Characters, let the most horrific Event start that changes everything that happened so far and then just end it while being midst in that absolutely devastating Scene without them knowing what in the fuck could even happen after that specific Scene, not even mentioning about the next Arc.
