1. INT. APARTMENT- NIGHTFord, 23, sits down at his table and puts his head in his hands. FORD (Exhaling loudly) What the fuck dude. He stares at the wall for a minute and then sets an alarm for 5am because it’s Sunday night. He will turn 24 the day after tomorrow. Do you ever get the feeling that life has passed you by even though your life is just beginning? I Saw the Tv Glow for English majors.

Literally 100% style over substance. Like if Rubber’s Lover was a lot more fucking boring. I wish I could say my guy DC had it all figured out from jump street but Stereo is a far cry from anything like Scanners or even Shivers. There are some parts that are sort of interesting, but this movie is mostly just a slog to get through. I wish I could have enjoyed it more but everybody’s gotta start somewhere. I will say that the best way to see this movie is on the Criterion print of Scanners. It’s included in the bonus features and looks absolutely incredible with a really crisp scan. I’m always a sucker for high contrast black and white, and Stereo can honestly look really beautiful and austere. Still boring asf though.

man what the hell. yuck First half hour is very slow and very strange and very awkward, but once the horny bug starts crawling around then we’re good. More early Cronenberg grit, sex, blood, and the looming sense of total dread. I don’t know if this is a good movie but honestly it checks all the DC boxes for me.

The ultimate “guys talking in rooms” movie
