Furious 7
Listen. I do not know what more a person could possibly want from a movie. Prior to seeing RRR, I legitimately could not imagine a greater crowdpleasing blockbuster. Every second of this movie is designed to engage and move the story forward. Every setpiece is greater than it needs to be. Take for example, the classic scene where Brian jumps off a bus as it falls off a cliff. The cliche is for him to grab the edge of the cliff, but this movie says "No. We must go further." Instead of grabbing the cliff, Brian needs to grab letti's car spoiler as it goes past the edge.
Jason Statham adds so much to this movie, as he is literally this unstoppable force of adrenaline that elevates the movie every time he appears.
Most shockingly, the way Paul Walkers real death is handled is shockingly beautiful. It is tear jerking, tasteful, and powerful. It makes no sense in the universe of the movie, but it makes sense in an emotional sense. That kind of decision is not the kind of corporate mandated bullshit you would expect, buddy, that is ART. Peak blockbuster film making. The average rating of 3.2 out of 5 stars makes it clear that we do not deserve movies this good. Shame on everyone who gave this lower than 4 stars. They do not deserve joy.
