Hard Target

“Poor people get bored too.” Okay , wow. Easily the most underrated of woo’s work. I’ll be clear, the first 40 minutes of this is pretty rough. It lacks the heart and head of woo’s other films.But after that it builds from good to one of the greatest action sequences I’ve ever seen. It’s not topping the hospital sequence from hard boiled, but it pretty much tops or at least matches everything else woo has done. Absolutely stunning action Nirvana. And listen! Jcvd is no Chow yun fat, but chow yun fat never did a round house kick to the guys he filled with bullets, and I gotta say, those kicks in combination with the shooting really felt like an innovation here. I wish woo made 3 more movies with jcvd and made him his American era’s fat. The villains in this are incredible by the way. They are just purely hamming it up.
