Rocky

This movie is phenomenal. I have not seen it in about a decade, but on this rewatch I liked it even more than I remembered. The first half is astonishing in how small it is. It’s like a small indie movie about a lonely boxer courting a woman who is clearly on the spectrum. It so consistently balances being moving, with feeling authentic and grounded. It’s incredibly sweet, Stallone is a revelation in this. The montage is iconic for a reason, and the ending is beautiful and effective. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect movie.
