Kill Bill: Vol. 1

False expectations: Bill wasn’t killed Kill Bill Vol. 1 is a beautiful genre-blending masterpiece! Mixing samurai films and spaghetti westerns into something completely unique. The casting is fantastic! The animated scenes have an incredible art style, adding even more flair to the film. It’s crazy how many sound clips came from this without realising it... so many iconic moments. The soundtrack is fantastic, making the epic fight scenes even better. This movie has inspired so many others, and for good reason. And of course, +20 points for a great use of the Wilhelm Scream. Absolutely classic. Also, in the big fight scene, I’m really glad all 30 of them attacked her one at a time. Wouldn’t have wanted to see the main protagonist have to struggle. Dual wielding samurai swords does seem like a bit of a cheat code though
