Punch-Drunk Love

4.5 I think I’m kinda getting a feel of what PTA’s style is, including but not limited to: the way that relentless, drone-like buzzing music is almost a constant in each and every scene, the utter randomness and somewhat surreal(?) quality (the best example so far being this movie) his work has. It’s all so mesmerising. Even though I couldn’t quite connect with Phantom Thread the way I hoped emotionally, I could definitely appreciate the craft behind it. Here, I was able to do both, and man what an experience this is. Adam Sandler. Definitely looking forward to exploring more of PTA’s work.
