This movie was definitely a lot more serious than the other works of Matt Johnson I have seen but still solid. Seeing glen howerton playing a serious character was definitely different but he wasn’t terrible. Maybe he did a little too much. But damn Matt Johnson is rly good behind a camera he still has his style that you can see in NTBTSTM but it worked to an extent. The music in this movie is really good j like his newest work and I felt the emotion is displayed pretty well in a way that is kind of teased in the works of Nirvana the Band. It’s an insanely interesting story and I am excited to see Matt’s new Tony film coming out in a few weeks.

I had been wanting to watch this for a while and it lived up to expectations to an extent. While it was not perfect by any means, obviously the music was spectacular. Lin Manuel Miranda is obviously very good at what he does and the story is so crazy it seems it had to have been made to a bio pic at some point. And there are definitely parts where Miranda falls back to his Hamilton roots and it sounds very similar. Garfield is really good and a surprisingly good singer. There are definitely some shots that left much to be desired and there aren’t any the stick out a crazy amount but it doesn’t look terrible. The emotions displayed pretty well and there was some comedy but a lot of things fell pretty flat. I did enjoy how the movie was a circle that started and ended with his 30th birthday. He was obviously slightly held back by the plot as most bio pics are which is why I don’t always love a lot of them but he did a decent job with what he was working with. Musical films are my guilty pleasure so I did have a good time watching this film and it was solid.

Pretty enjoyable and fun movie. In a way it doesn’t take itself that seriously in holy grail type of way and has aspects of borat too. But it was just very fun. I have seen things about how Stu didn’t even know how big a role he had till the movie came out and I think that is kinda genius and a cool idea in general. It’s the movie that I don’t even want to be that critical abt bc it just seems isnt that type of movie ig. Highly recommend and really entertaining.

I really wanted to like this film but I felt the longer I watched the less I liked it. I felt the movie was annoyingly repetitive which is probably what caused my enjoyment to decrease throughout the film. Things that I thought were really interesting at the start like the bangs of noise during the shots of pictures being taken as the film spiraled I felt the noises and score were to overused if not similar to one another. If also felt pretty slow for me for its short run time. While I didn’t like much about especially the second half of the movie, I have to appreciate the spectacular acting in this movie. I mean of the two main couples they all were played exactly the way Borgli wanted. The movie spiraled but I don’t think the plane was landed to well at the end. Movie was all over the place but I still didn’t hate it completely.
