They Live

“I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I’m all out of bubble gum” I’ve always loved this movie ever since I first saw it with my dad when I was young, and even more so now that I can really understand its symbolism (that still holds up today almost 40 years later) regarding consumerism, greed, and the control of the elites over the lower classes. Really great movie with some awesome action scenes as well as a deeper meaning behind it from the absolute mastermind that is John Carpenter.
