I guess I expected more. The visual language is insanely prominent and powerful here, but I didn’t really feel that sense of “suspense” and “unease” everyone seems to talk about. Steven Yeun did a tremendous job though, and the film genuinely felt more alive whenever he was on screen. Writing-wise, it definitely has its strengths, especially in its allegorical elements and deeper commentary. However, I thought it lacked rhythm at times, and I found myself getting a little bored during certain stretches. Still, definitely a very strong film.

Stone everyone involved to death.
