Let us not believe that the Devil belongs solely to the past. the midnight hour strikes and I have a sudden urge to watch a Swedish silent movie about witches like idk stunning and gorgeous. Costuming was great, visuals were great, story was great. Very modern in its “what if witchcraft was just mental illness” but also incredibly dated in its “yeah idk all girls are just kinda crazy a little bit” Love all of the parallels of women in the Middle Ages to women in the present (or ig in THAT present) and the Church vs. the Law today. Even a sprinkle of critique aimed at the fanaticism of the Middle Ages which is pretty interesting like idk guys maybe the devil… is us 😱😱😱😱 The guy playing the Devil was a FREAKKK he scared me so bad why was his tongue always sticking out Surprisingly humorous??? Idk I guess I just thought people weren’t allowed to be funny back then but this was actually pretty silly. World’s first mockumentary
