Kagemusha
A stunning epic to get your teeth stuck into like a good long novel. Which means it's incredibly rich but opaque until you can settle into it. After about 40 minutes of its 3-hour length, it becomes sumptuous, and I didn't want it to end lest I'd be deprived of its visual and emotional joys.
