Hamnet
I watched this around 1 ish today and it is currently 22:30 and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. As someone who has grown up around theatre and Shakespeares work this really spoke to me because I am at a time in my life right now where I prepare to leave behind a lot of important people in my life who have especially inspired me to be who I am today, along with my passions. So watching this really stuck a cord because it showed me why we do it and why it’s so important. Now onto the truly beautiful parts of the films: I think that the use of colour in this is amazing the transformation from the reds to greys and back to reds really helps to elevate the whole emotion. Now I know everyone is saying it but Jessie Buckley is outstanding to the point that at times I felt as though I was there with her going through the pain. But finally that end scene really brought the whole thing together with the outreaching hands cover the screen and this was the bit that got me. So here are just a few reasons why this film is joining my 5 star club. I am super grateful for everyone in my life who has supported me and just been there though the times when things haven’t always gone to plan and I really need to start preparing for so many goodbyes.
P.s Jacobi Jupe is just such a little cutie
