who would guess a comedy animated movie about a fat panda would be so philosophical

give josh oconnor that oscar!! everytime he plays a character he just becomes them even with small hand gestures and minor facial expressions. now to the movie. in my opinion this is one of the movies that are just so much better on a second watch. with the story being quite unclear and the movie being in italian i was lost the first time i watched it. now, that i knew the basics of the story, i had time to focus and the dialogue, the little symbols and all the secrets the movie is actually telling you. the flipped screen shots, "hes chasing his chimeras", "you were not made for human eyes", the red string, italia being called a witch and cursing them just before it all went down, the souls on the train and most importantly "keep the light, youre going to need it.". he asked everybody for a lighter the entire movie and when he finally went into the tomb alone (for the last time) and needed it the most he had his own light, given to him by a soul of a person he's robbed. this movie is just so beautifully crafted. it is so genius. also i loooovee italy so much.

quite a fun movie, not usual anderson, i feel like it was more focused on the story and comedy since it wasn't that heavy with his signature style that he has developed over the years

this movie is so silly so british😭 the slugs, the fish, millicent bystander, the french frog being called le frog, "england is winning anything is possible", hans solo in the background of the first nytrogen scene. i was cackling the whole time
