Whiplash

“ There are no two words in the English language more harmful than 'good job.' ” Absolute perfection. Damien Chazelle, what an absolute masterpiece you've created. This movie deserves all the love and hype it gets. First of all hats off to Miles Teller and J.K Simmons for being such a good protagonist and antagonist, from the very first scene to the very last, the movie shows Neiman's Obsession of becoming 'great' he is so focused and obsessed with being good that he would die for it, even let go of people who he truly loves just for him to obsess over his passion. This movie establishes that greatness doesn't come simply from simply being "natural" you have to pour your blood and sweat into what you dedicate your life to. Letcher is not there to teach them, to tempo them, to conduct them—he is there to push them beyond their capabilities.
