Literally the same as the first, but a bit dumber. Although it’s an unnecessary installment, I was hoping for a bit more substance. I liked the first one and was just hoping for a bolder swing. The back-and-forth between Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton was annoying, and no one gave a good performance other than the two leads. Even then, Weaving is in another league. I don’t really have many thoughts here. Yeah, it’s a fun one. If you liked the first, you’ll like this one well enough, it’s just a step down. Elijah Wood being in it is cool, but yeah… another run-of-the-mill horror flick.

While Samara Weaving is goated, **Ready or Not **is your run-of-the-mill horror flick. It’s not bad by any means, but there’s nothing you haven’t seen before. It’s a really fun watch, and seeing it now has me excited for the sequel. I just had some issues with the logic, and I found the Helene character extremely annoying. She’s genuinely terrible, glaringly bad compared to everyone else. Overall, I enjoyed it. I just wish I liked it more because I really do like the premise, and Samara Weaving does a great job. The ending is also a lot of fun. It’s just not great.

An extremely prevalent and predictive media satire that, unfortunately, runs a bit too long and makes a few awkward detours into a romance that ultimately falls flat. It’s a great script, and I was hooked for a while, but the second half just kind of meanders. It leads to a good and fitting, yet predictable, ending. The performances are strong, and I can see why this is considered a classic. Sadly, it still ended up feeling a bit boring to me.
