Writer/Director We’ll Keep It Down OUT NOW!!!!! DEVOID OUT NOW!!!!

so many split diopters (complimentary). if this wasn’t nearly as long i would’ve probably enjoyed it more cause the 3rd act drags a bit and im not really a fan of certain choices but did dig the evil dead influence (it’s very apparent). i did think the ending (specifically the last 5 or so mins) was a good wrap up. was really gross to watch at moments but i was expecting that after seeing evil dead rise. was surprised with how much i did end up enjoying this ngl but im not mad at it. definitely not a perfect movie, and its without its flaw, but idk me and ava had a a good time for most of the movie.

Wow. what a beautiful experience. Genuinely jaw droppingly gorgeous all the way from start to end. The story felt so authentic and to me, felt like Jane was fully immersed in expressing themselves so transparently. I mean genuinely some of the coolest visual storytelling I’ve seen in a movie. Might be contender for new favorite of the year ngl but that may just be because i’m a weirdo with weird taste in film but hey who knows. Jane, I hope you get those meetings for A Nightmare On Elm Street cause your surreal dream like visuals would be so fitting for Freddy. So refreshing to see this being shot on film. Still stand by opinion of 35mm being my favorite film format. The performances are stellar in this. Just the right amount of camp in the right areas. It really knows how to replicate that 80s slasher atmosphere and look, it’s so beautiful. This isn’t really much of a horror film straight up, but more-so the exploration of how falling in love and having sex feels like a slasher movie to someone who’s afraid to be vulnerable. It’s beautifully told. This could’ve gone like a bad in taste route but they truly this knocked it out of the park. Eric Yue, the DoP on the film, I would love to have a conversation with you about this film if you ever see this 🙏. I hope this really picks up traction cause it was a delight to see on the big screen.
