Alien

This was really exciting. I was on the edge of my seat the last 20 minutes and I was not disappointed. The cat living really bumped the rating up too. The cinematography, the lighting, the idea of being trapped on your own ship with an alien that blends in with all the mechanics is so terrifying.  This was originally going to get a 4 but I saw someone’s review on viewing the story from Ash’s perspective. How he watched them go collect the egg, how he manipulated everyone to keep the alien alive, his glances at Kane at the dinner table. One of the single best plot twists ever.  Perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. I admire its purity.
