Adapting Homer's epic with his signature technical mastery and visual grandeur, Christopher Nolan delivers pure, unadulterated cinema with The Odyssey, orchestrating a viscerally moving journey as Odysseus fights his way back to Ithaca that leaves viewers with genuine chills and tears. However, despite its magnificent direction, the film tackles such a vast subject that audiences without prior knowledge of the mythology might easily feel lost, making it fall slightly short of the massive hype and preventing it from being Nolan's absolute masterpiece. Nevertheless, it is elevated by an exceptional ensemble cast delivering divine performances across the board, most notably Anne Hathaway's majestic presence and a brief yet spellbinding turn from Zendaya, proving once again why she is the standout actress of our  generation. 🙏
