Quietly devastating. This movie is incredibly subtle and out of the realm of the kind of films I typically watch, but I really liked it. I was a bit lost at the interstitial dance / club scenes, but it clicked for me at the end and really hit. It’s a very simple story and yet it’s so well done. Paul Mescal was nominated for Best Actor for this performance and I can see why. I only have to rate this lower than it probably deserves because on my end, I don’t know if I have the attention span to come back to this again, but I was locked in on this first watch and loved it.
