Paprika

Utterly bizarre in the best ways possible; Paprika is truly a one of a kind, type of film that bends the animation genre to it's outsides, proving that the imagination and creative philosophies of its animators can pull of anything as profound, complex and creative as this. It is truly a spectacle of passion and love for the mind and art, and it achieves this superbly with its vivid and surreal nature. Animation lets us get away with a lot of things, it allows for full control and freedom, it can create feelings and stories unlike no other; and I firmly believe Paprika is the apogee of surrealist, thought provoking, fun cinema with a fine level of love behind its colourful soul. Paprika is a flavourful juxtaposition within the realms of art and philosophy; it pokes at many things but it ultimately reminds us the love of accepting things and being within the moment. Sometimes dreams are best left on the pillow.. Phenomenal score, and a perfect movie all around in endless ways..
