Geek Charming
"My Serge Sanchez!"
-Dylan Schoenfield
to my dear Paige
Geek Charming is undeniably corny, but I think that is exactly why I ended up liking it so much. It does not try to act cooler or deeper than it is. It just leans fully into being sweet, awkward, and kind of embarrassing in the most sincere way possible.
And honestly, it made me think about how love is not always made up of huge dramatic moments. Sometimes it is just paying attention to someone long enough to really see them.
That is what reminded me of you.
Not because our relationship is some cheesy Disney movie, but because you make ordinary things feel important to me. Small conversations suddenly become memories I replay in my head. Random moments during the day start mattering more because they involve you.
I think before meeting you, I underestimated how much love can exist in little things. Not giant speeches or perfect timing, just consistency. Being there. Learning each others habits. Caring quietly.
This movie feels like the kind of story people would roll their eyes at and call unrealistic, but I do not think it is unrealistic to be changed by someone paying attention to you.
Because that is what happened to me.
