Yi Yi
I’m am speechless. this movie is just so spectacular in so many different ways it’s hard to put it into words. first off I love how the movie is so well nit together. the themes of the movie are so apparent in people’s lives. the feeling of emptiness in the mom, the loss of a loved one, the loss of a lover, etc. there’s so many more, but I loved how N.J., Ting-Ting, and Yang-Yang all go through the process of love and how N.J. talked about his first lover as Ting-Ting was going through it.
the movie beginning with a wedding and ending in a funeral really gives the perspective of how life sometimes isn’t what it seems. the thought of gaining someone then losing them really shows how this movie flows and develops so well.
Lastly, I want to talk about how Yang-Yang took photos of the back of peoples heads and based it on how people on see the “half-truth.” that is what really made the film feel whole to me.
I would give this film a 10/10. I was sucked into it in the first minutes and kept at it all the way through. I was never bored of it even though it has such a long runtime.
That end scene had me crying tho I’m not gunna lie.
