Obsession
- Externalizing psychological horror to the point where expressions are jump scares.
- Rooting for the main character to literally kill himself
- Exploring the idea from Frankenstein that the monster’s experience is the more obscene, more unsettling horror than what is inflicted by the victim-monster on society
While it wears its influences (especially Get Out) on its sleeve, this movie still feels singular and unique. Loses points only for the goofy title card and the needlessly egregious naked dead female body at the end.
