Such a shitty movie for such great acting

cute not my genre though. Scene are very choppy and short but if it were any longer I’d prob fall asleep

today I learned Jake gyllenhall has had the face of a forty year old man since he was nineteen

Ok not the best but still great. This is the type of war movie to have the main focus be action and rah rah masculinity vs my personal preference of emotion depth and political nuance of war movies. It was still great, for example the pacing and the characters were unique. Personally I would cast a little differently, Berthanal awesome but Brad Pitts hair is too good for a film like this and Lerman is too cutie patootie.  There is also a very specific film style of movies that is very mid 2010s such as this one. It’s in the choppy one liners, and the editing, and the perspectives when a lot of characters exist yet one or two are the “main” ones. It’s hard to explain but basically if you threw Chris Evan’s in this movie I would not be able to tell it apart from an Avengers movie.
