The Brutalist
This has easily been my most anticipated release for the past year or so. My expectations seemed too high but this somehow topped everything I could have imagined. What a film. Adrien Brody is terrific and Guy Pearce is also near perfection. The score is so epic and grand I couldn’t get enough of it. When those horns hit it’s just so damn good. And obviously this film just looks insane. The use of VistaVision is truly stunning. Every frame is such a treat to look at. Loved Brady Corbet’s previous two films but this is truly on a different plane. Absolutely monumental. And the near 4 hour runtime truly flew by, I could’ve lived in this for another 4 hours easily. So grateful that something like this can still be released today. Let’s go. Movies fucking rock.
