How do you spell “RELIEF”? While the films in Gregg Araki's Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy function masterfully on their own, when watched in succession you get to experience an epic odyssey of devasting proportions. The worlds presented in Araki's trilogy are relentless torture. Worlds where God is dead, Reagan killed Him, and we have no choice but to defile His corpse every day. Every day we're alive is another day we wish we weren't. Our body rejects this world. Life and Death. Love and Hate. Faith and Fear. Heaven and Hell. Everything is the end of the world. Who cares? Such misperceptions are the burdens that every queer teenager must bear. Being a teenager is living through an apocalypse. These three movies mean so much to me. Don’t know if i could ever pick a favorite. Let the Love Feast Begin.

[watched with commentary from robert altman] shelley duvall is doing phenomenal work here. hearing how much of her character came directly from her isn't surprising. performance of a lifetime. may she rest in peace.
