Inception
Already one of my favourite of Nolan’s . For a while I’ve had it in my head that I thought Nolan was kinda overrated, I just thought that he was put in conversations he probably shouldn’t of been but lately he’s just been proving me more and more wrong. The concept is obviously really good but especially for Nolan I think the characters really work in this one and I think Leo gives one of his best performances. I really like how it’s laid out too because a film like this needs a lot of exposition but it manages to keep the pace early on and drop crumbs when we need them and then slowly build and build on the concept before coming to a point in the finale where instead of trying to one up itself on spectacle, focuses on character which it develops early on leading to probably my favourite ending in any Nolan film that manages to make you smile, makes you question what you’ve seen before and just listen to Hans Zimmer cook. A real blockbuster.
