The Master
A brilliant film with one of the best overall acting performances from the cast as a whole, masterfully directed, masterfully written and masterfully executed. All of this for such a performance from Philip Seymour Hoffman, 2 years prior to his death, being one of the best acting performances in history that ended up losing to fucking christoph waltz in Django unchained. I love Christoph Waltz as much as the next guy, but this is an Oscar that should have had the name of Philip Seymour Hoffman and in hindsight it is such a tragedy that he died not much longer after this ending his great career as an actor.
