Obsession

My 900th movie rated ends up being my first ever 5 star horror somehow, despite horror being my favourite genre when it’s done the way I like it. I expected to enjoy this after all the hype and on paper it already sounded exactly like my kind of film but it still exceeded expectations. The creepy moments and jump scares are effective, but they wouldn’t matter to me without the plot and atmosphere to back them up, and this has both alongside good performances. There are so many questions and theories to think about afterwards. I like that it doesn’t over explain the horror and leaves room for interpretation, because it allows everyone’s imagination to take the horror in whatever direction is scariest to them.
