Psycho

What can I say about this film that hasn’t been said already. Alfred Hitchcock not only revolutionized the horror genre but he changed it forever. Psycho was so advanced for it’s time that filmmakers today can’t even bring the suspense and horror that Psycho brings to the table. This was the first movie that killed off its main character halfway through and honestly it works to perfection. To me, however, the real star of this film is Norman Bates performed by the brilliant Anthony Hopkins. What I love about Psycho is that what makes it scary isn’t the blood or gore or over the sexualization of women. It’s the close up shots, the suspense of not knowing where the story is going to go and its horrifying realism. Psycho is one of the greatest movies ever made that completely changed the landscape of the film industry. 10/10
