Twin Peaks: The Return
**Twin Peaks is not a perfect show
But Twin Peaks: The Return we close to perfection as I've seen in a long long time.**
Through only paying brief, but admittedly charming attention to the original series' soap opera elements, The Return is able to focus way more on the surreal and supernatural elements of the original show. It masterfully balances all of its spinning plates as each, seemingly loosely connected plotline fits into place, on its larger thread board, crafting a magnificent mystery that left me wanting more after every episode.
It's sort of a testament to this show's quality that I watched it so quickly, especially during one of the busiest points in my recent years. It kept me engaged from start to finish in a way that even the original series struggled to do at times; I understand why everyone calls this David Lynch's magnum opus, what a fucking banger to go out on.
Not going to spoil anything, but that finale will haunt me for years to come; what a chilling final shot to end all of Twin Peaks on!
In conclusion, this is peak television, 10/10 almost perfect, a fucking banger that every fan of the original show needs to have seen.
